Blue Hawaiian Helicopters – Eco-Star West Maui – 30 Minutes
$192.00 BOOK NOW
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Eco-Star West Maui tour is a unique, express style tour. The most remote place on Maui is in the West Maui Mountains, it’s also the wettest. There are no roads, no trails, nothing but towering cliffs, deep valleys, and waterfalls. Pigs are the only thing that populates the interior of the West Maui Mountains. You probably won’t see one though as the forest canopy is so dense that it is nearly impossible to see the ground. There are 3 waterfall highlights on this tour. The first one is the Wall of Tears hidden deep in the back of the Waihee Valley which is the source for the Waiehu River. The Waiehu River runs through Iao Valley and provides most of the drinking water for Central Maui.
The second one is the Keyhole Waterfall. The Keyhole Waterfall is tuck into the back of a side canyon off the Waihee Valley. It’s a sliver of a Canyon that like all canyons end nowhere. The difference is the towering double tier waterfall half way down on the 1200-foot beauty. The tier is so large that it has a name – Violet Lake. Though getting down to it for a swim would be a chore and then some. How this canyon was ever found, let alone hiked too, is beyond understanding.
The third waterfall highlights in this helicopter ride on Maui is the Honokahua Waterfall filmed in Jurassic Park. Located at the end of the longest canyon on Maui it takes 2 days just to reach it by hiking up the stream. Falling over 900 feet into a clear pool, it’s awesome.
When booking this Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Eco-Star 30 minute tour, you need to know that it takes 4 people to confirm the flight. If there aren’t 4 guests on the tour, then they will cancel the flight and most likely upgrade your seats to a longer flight. There is no telling what that may be.
It is highly recommended that you wear a dark, solid colored shirt for any of the helicopter flights. Brightly colored clothes can cause reflections on the windows that will show up in your photos and videos.
Don’t forget your shades!

My wife and I did the Maui Spectacular tour. It was the highlight of our week on Maui! Tim, our pilot, did a wonderful job of narrating the experience. The view from the landing area on Mt. Haleakala was spectacular and complete with champagne! The tour gave us an appreciation for the rugged beauty of Maui that can only be seen from the air.
Gorgeous ride!!! My family and I did the Hana/Eastern Maui tour ride and loved it. The helicopters are not open door, which was fine by me. For photo taking maybe that's not the best but you can purchase a video of your entire trip (with the pilot's commentary) afterward if you want. Our pilot, Ken, was knowledgeable and gave us a smooth ride. A wonderful experience!!
Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had!!! My husband and I were worried our tour would be cancelled due to inclement weather conditions but luckily the company re-routed our tour! Instead of the Hana tour we saw Molokai Island among other historical Maui sites. It was just incredible and our pilot was very knowledgeable and fun. We saw whales, waterfalls, reefs, cliffs and isolated communities. I would love to do this again!!
I would've rated 5 stars if there wouldn't have been music on the headphones and merely silence to contemplate the beauty of Molokai and Maui.
Sacred sites and nature monuments are not attractions, they're more than that.
I really disliked that at the most epic moment of the flight, when the most beautiful waterfall stood in front of us, they put Jurassic Park anthem. Very disrispectful and lacking taste.
I tried to take off the headphones but the noise of the rotors was too loud. Didn't like having to go through it and didn't want to make any comments since I wasn't sure if the other passengers were liking it (2 of them had fallen asleep).
If you guys show more respect for the culture and the passengers you'll be better reviewed I think.
Derek, the pilot was so awesome! He happens to be from our state and 1st flew in our hometown. He was great with our 8 year old daughter. Our minds were at ease with his flying and he gave us many picture opportunities. Derek also played Top Gun music for me, which totally made my day!
