Enjoy the breathtaking Sunrise on Haleakala, then bike down the volcano experiencing all the wonders of upcountry Maui from your bike. Or sleep in and take a later tour of the volcano and get the same experience biking down the volcano. The third option is to just do the bike ride which is perfect for those who want a quick upcountry tour. There is only one option with Haleakala Bike Company for a Maui sunrise bike tour. The option is to drive to the baseyard in Haiku. Some members of the group may want to be included in the activity but have no desire to ride a bike down Haleakala. The van tour option is a perfect solution for that type of situation. The rates are also much cheaper than the van option with other companies. This feature separates them from everyone else. They are more family friendly.

We are Hawai'i residents, vising Maui from Big Island. We've been to Maui several times, but finally decided to do this bike ride, and I am SO GLAD we did!...
What a great experience for my wife and I. Tim our driver was super nice and fun. Told us many interesting facts about the island. Loved that part. They...
Amazingly talented guides Billy and geologist driver (can’t recall his name). Their mix of geology, cultural heritage, Hawaiian wisdom, history, ecology, humor and more were an unexpected highlight! The views and the bike ride were spectacular, as were the equipment: bikes and gear. They thought of everything!
A group of 4 of us rode the 9:30 am tour/downhill with Kemo. 10 out 10 STARS. We are avid outdoor/mountain bikers. Kemo was local, knowledgeable, funny, and...
We did the Haleakala sunrise bike tour, and it was amazing! The sunrise was very windy and cold as expected, but worth it. The bike down the mountain was the highlight though. You get to coast down S turns in the mountain with gorgeous views of the island the whole way down! There is only two small "hills" that you actually have to pedal the whole time. The staff were excellent as well. I like the fact that the bike down was unguided. We could go at our own speed (fast or slow) and stop where we wanted to. This was probably our favorite experience in Maui!
We had an amazing time. We took the guided tour, probably will do the self if we go again just because we know what to do now. The staff were all good at their jobs, kept us all entertained and were very helpful in general. Sunrise was amazing, it is cold, they do supply you with vest, gloves, windbreaker pants and coat, so that is very helpful. But be warned, it was 44 up too and felt like 25 with the wind. I would recommend the crew in all.
Billy the guide was the absolute best part of the whole day(aside from the sunrise and bike trip) I would like to just hang with him for 8 hours and soak up all of his knowledge of Maui/Hawaii. Will be doing this trip every time we come to Maui. NOTE: They make is more than perfectly clear the ride down is dangerous --AND it is-- but if you have have enough common sense not to drink water from a chipped glass, then you have enough sense to make it down the 23 miles safely. Having said that, if you have any anxiety about it and if you have never really ridden a bike much at all, think twice. It is pretty intense.
I loved this excursion! The bike ride was very easy! I enjoyed the sunrise at the volcano, however it was pretty chilly, so I recommend taking an extra blanket and leave it on the bus once you go for a ride!
The sunrise view from the top was amazing! However, my mom and I almost enjoyed the first portion of the bike ride down even more. The view was unreal. The...
I have a few friends who are much more avid bicyclists than I am. I actually prefer motorcycling. Two told me to try this ride, all the way down a mountain...
