$135.00 BOOK NOW
Horseback riding in Maui in the morning is a perfect start to a wonderful day in Lahaina, Maui. Your ride on the Lahaina Stables Historic Ride begins with sweeping views of Lahaina, the ocean, and several historical sites. As you rise above the old sugar cane fields you can see the vacant growing terraces and irrigation ditches from a by-gone era. Your guide on the Lahaina Stables Historic Ride shares the history of all aspects of Lahaina from the sugar cane fields to the old hydroelectric plant built in the 1920’s. Your tour continues to Launiupoko Valley, high above Lahaina where you will dismount, take in the views, enjoy refreshments in an authentic Hawaiian Hale on top of a ridge nestled next to a large pond fed by a mountain stream. Escape and unwind with a Lahaina Stables Historic Ride and capture memories that with keep you coming back to Maui for years to come. One of the best features of Lahaina Stables is its location. Most horseback stables on Maui are either upcountry or on the opposite side of West Maui. Most require a 90-minute drive which certainly cuts into the day when you consider driving there and back to you resort.
Weather conditions are also much more favorable with Lahaina Stables. Lahaina receives very little rain, which reduces the probability of weather cancellations due to muddy trails. The other riding stables are in areas that rain frequently, especially in the winter months.

I recently took a horse ride from these stables, and the tour guide a were nice and professional, with few to none problems that weren't manageable. They provide snacks along long hikes, have horses for different types of people, and you can ride these trails even if you have no experience riding horses. Another fantastic location in Maui, and a great way to spend your afternoon.
Amazing experience!!! First time horseback riding, the staff really took care of us. The views were stunning, one of the best excursions I've done on the island. I highly recommend it!
Great horses and staff. Very organized and informative. Steep hills on mountains so be prepared for that.
Nice ride. Horses were taken care of and good shape. Staff was Friendly and knowledgeable.
An UNBELIEVABLE Horseriding Experience!!
As a first time horse rider, I chose Lahaina Stables because of the awesome recommendations from locals, reviews I've read and the location, and let me start by saying I am really, really glad I did! Upon arrival, you are greeted by a pleasant host, mine being Heather. She immediately made me feel at ease as this was my first time horseback riding and I've been told horses "sense fear" so being put at ease upon arrival was crucial for my experience. The horses are SO well cared for, all seemed very happy with human interaction and were all unique in their own ways. I was paired with a horse named Shadow who was the most perfect horse for me. It's true what they say, humans don't pick the horse, the horse picks you. Shadow and I hit it off immediately, she is even-keeled, friendly and gracious. The ride was 2 hrs (2 miles out, 2 miles in) with a break for a quick bite and feeding of the horses. The views were breathtaking, weather was PERFECT (it's Lahaina, it's pretty nice anytime) and each rider and their horse were having a blast.
I WILL DEFINITELY be back when I return to Maui, and recommend you try them and tell your friends/family to experience Maui from a different perspective. Truly a memory worth creating!
