Grand Wailea Luau – Premium Seating
$140.00 BOOK NOW
The Grand Wailea Luau is a thoughtful presentation of the legends of Maui. The mermaid of Maui, Karnataka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The dance of Naulu is a love story – the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa in the uplands that embraced the clouds of Ulupalakua. These stories of ancient Hawaii create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula that bring the history of Maui to life. Enjoy an evening of magical enchantment at Honua’ula and discover the culture, history, and legends Hawaii. The Honua’ula Luau begins this fun-filled evening with ancient Hawaiian games and crafts from local artisans, a photo opportunity, and the Imu Ceremony. As the sun sets, the magic of Maui comes alive with the dances that portray the legends, myths, and stories of ancient Hawaii. With colorful costumes, the beat of the Pau Drum, your evening journeys to the past. The Grand Wailea Luau is a presentation of the history of Maui. The only dance not associated with the island of Maui is the Samoan fire knife dance. All the other dances tell the story of Maui.
The show moves through the demi-god Maui with the creation of Maui and spiritually of Haleakala. The Grand Wailea Luau includes aerials to the right of the stage. Since Ulalena came to Maui, everyone believes aerials are the in thing. Well, that’s okay as a little magic in a luau is wonderful. And Maui is filled with magic.
When the Honua’ula Luau was at the Wailea Marriott it was considered the best luau on the south side. The luau earned many awards for their show. The tradition continues at the Grand Wailea as the Honua’ula Luau has redesigned the show with a fresh look.
These are the best seats. The stage is rather low to the ground, so to ensure the best viewing of the show, premium seating is the best selection. As with the standard seating the tables extended beyond the sides of the stage so you should arrive early to get the best seats.

Amazing experience, hand down the best, top notch service, food was phenomenal, service was great! Never let our drinks get empty and they weren’t shy with the alcohol in the drinks! They also made sure to take special care with my drink and food since they tend to put flowers on and in their food and drinks and I am highly allergic also gave me a shell necklace instead of a lay! The show was amazing, the dancers and the king of fire performance was jaw dropping!! The hotel is beautiful and location is gorgeous! All around wonderful experience!!
This was an incredible luau! Spend the extra money and sit up front, and stand in line early to get the prime seats. The dancers were awesome and they seemed to really enjoy themselves on stage. The food was good but nothing spectacular. There are also local vendors around the luau were you can by necklaces, tiki heads and other things. My family and I really enjoyed ourselves and sat with a great family from Ohio during the show.
Had a wonderful evening at this Luau! Ended up having our own table and eating more than we should have. (Ha) Food was amazing and the show is inspiring. The history of Hawaii is extremely interesting. Sunset is perfect from this location and I would highly recommend!
This was my first luau so I have to admit I don't know how others compare and I probably would give it 4 stars on a different day. To its credit, it was a good experience, it was located on a great property, the food was pretty good, and it was an open bar. However my biggest complaint is that the buffet was put away far too early. They could leave the food out for longer to allow people to go for seconds. I can't imagine the amount of wasted food each time and that is why I am only giving 3 stars. Also I expected more fire dancing, and more elaborate fire dancing.
First off... if you buy this through Costco, they give you a cheap necklace instead of a lei. They also place you in the back half... make you feel like a second class citizen.
The drinks..... super weak, watered down, bottom shelf spirits.
The food... meh. The pork was ok, everything else very forgettable buffet food.
The entertainment was quite boring and hard to understand. The fire dancer was cool... definitely the highlight... even though he dropped his torches a couple times... yikes!
The staff was very friendly.
All in all, not even close to worth the price.
