Best Price GuaranteeParasailing Hawaii with West Maui Parasail is one of the most spectacular and memorable island activities we are able to offer. The views are incredible and the thrill is exceptional. Flying high in the sky with nothing but the ocean beneath you! Parasailing is for everyone – young, old, anyone. No experience required. Maui parasailing is enjoyed every 60 minutes from Lahaina and Kaanapali beginning at 9.00am and continuing through the day to 4:00 pm.
West Maui Parasail is a seasonal activity. Due to the arrival of the Humpback Whales in the winter, parasailing on Maui is not allowed from December 15th through May 15th.
Parasailing in Maui takes you to new heights as you soar over the ocean from far above. The boat looks small as you glide through the sky canvassed with the West Maui Mountains. You can feel the breeze whipping through your hair as the boat pulls you through the sky.
There are two flying styles to choose from. You can either fly as a single or as a tandem. Tandem is two people flying at the same time. One thing to remember about parasailing in Maui is the flying style you select determines the boat. Since it takes longer to reel out and in a single parasailer, the time allowed for the activity is directly tied to the flying style. Parasailing companies prefer tandem. It takes about 1 hour per 6 guests flying in tandem. If there are any singles, then it would it would take longer.
Parasailing with West Maui Parasail is easy. Once you board the boat, the crew will explain the art of parasailing. All Maui parasailing tours are launched from a platform on the back of the boat. Once you put on the harness assembly, you step up to the deck. The crew member will sit you down on the platform and attach you to a wench. The captain releases the wench and speeds up the boat. The parasail catches the wind, and you take off. The landing is just as easy. The ride begins to end when the captain starts to reel in the line. He reverses the wench and reels you in like a fish. You will land exactly where you started from on the platform.
There are 2 locations to choose from. You can either enjoy Maui parasailing activities from Kaanapali Beach or from Lahaina Harbor. The main difference between the two is boarding the boat. From Lahaina, you will board from the pier. In Kaanapali, you would board from the beach.
1200’ Line:
The 1200-foot line is the longest line parasailing companies are allowed to release. It equates to about 80 stories above the water. The ride time is the same at 8-10 minutes. This is the preferred choice for teenagers and honeymooners. All in all, there isn’t much of a notable difference when the line is completely reeled out. You spend more time winching out and in than at the actual height.
Tip of the Day:
Wear something you won’t mind getting wet.
You can request photos be taken. It’s an extra fee, but having the crew take the photos is priceless as they capture the best moments of you.
Once you’re flying style has been selected, it cannot be changed when checking in. The time allowed for the boat is tied to the flying styles.
The best time to parasail in Maui is before 1:00 pm. The winds are calmer, fewer cancellations.
