Trilogy Discover Kaanapali Snorkel Sail has set the standard for snorkeling the West Side of Maui. Trilogy Excursions has been operating snorkel tours on Maui since 1973. Family owned and operated, Trilogy has established their Trilogy Discover Kaanapali Snorkel adventure as a favorite of perennial visitors. Honolua Bay serves as the snorkel destination for this world-class snorkel trip. The “Bay”, a marine preserve, as it is commonly referred to by locals, is one of the best snorkeling sites anywhere in the world. Generations of Hawaiians have used Honolua Bay as a food source to feed their families, now Honolua Bay is used primarily for surfing and snorkeling
Teeming with marine life on some of the most colorful reefs on Maui, Honolua Bay is a national Marine Reserve that is federally protected. On your snorkel adventure with Trilogy Discover Kaanapali, you will snorkel with the famous Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle and perhaps encounter the spinner dolphins who frequent the bay. During the whale watching season from December 16th through April 15th, there is a good chance of seeing the Humpback Whale gracefully cruising through the water. You may even get lucky and see one breach close to the boat. Trilogy will provide a whale watch during the season, but it will be a mild one as the snorkeling is what the trip is all about.
We hope to see ya aboard soon. You will be glad you experienced a day sailing and snorkeling with Trilogy.
Trilogy has recently introduced Snuba, as an extra Maui activity that you can experience while enjoying this world-class Maui snorkel trip.
Snuba is one of the fastest growing activities on Maui. It’s simple to do. Like scuba diving, you will be under water for an extended period of time. About 45 minutes, depending on how you breathe. A scuba tank is placed on a raft with a 15-foot hose attached to a regulator. Weights are attached to you, to keep from floating to the surface. A dive master tags along with the group, ensuring you have a safe and fun time.
Due to the regulations in place by the US Coast Guard, the only tanks brought aboard are already reserved. Your Snuba reservation should be placed at the time you book the activity. This will guarantee your tank.
Trilogy uses a 50-foot sailing catamaran for their Kaanapali snorkel adventure. Licensed for 65 passengers, Trilogy restricts the guest count to 49 passengers. You can expect maximum comfort with an experience that will keep you coming back to Maui again and again.

We did the sail trilogy boat tour whale watching and it was a great experience. The guides made us feel safe on the water and had tons of interesting information to share about the whales, in addition to showing them to us! The snacks were OK, and the drinks were complimentary (!) Including adult beverages. We also booked a snorkeling tour that we needed to cancel close to the refund deadline and they were extremely kind in taking care of us. Thanks Trilogy for the great experience!
Our sunset sail on the Trilogy III was better than we even expected. First of all, the boat is beautiful and pristine. Secondly, the food, although they called them appetizers, were delicious and superb. Also, the drinks were fantastic. The views were awesome. We even had a group of dolphins swim alongside the boat for a while. And last but not least, the crew. They made this our favorite Maui excursion. There may be other options while on Maui but the Trilogy Sunset Sail is by far the best. Don’t miss out on it!
Could not have asked for a better sailing and snorkeling experience. Great crew - very friendly, engaging, helpful, and all around great people.
We went on a cloudy November day and had a fantastic time both in and out of the water. The weather cleared up towards the end which was beautiful.
Breakfast and lunch were fantastic.
Cannot praise this company and their team members enough. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!
Everything about this excursion was exceptional! Great crew, snacks, food, drinks, pictures, you name it. It was great. We will definitely use trilogy Excursions again.
We did the sunset dinner cruise. Such an amazing night - great weather, great food, really great service. Highly recommend it if you’re in Maui. Maybe even a must do!
