Stretching over 6962 yards on 160 acres the Pukalani Golf Club is 18 holes with a par 72. Loaded with traps and water hazards the course is as challenging as it is fun. It’s also hilly. Located upcountry, the views are sweeping. With low green fees, the Pukalani Golf Club is popular with the locals. It’s not the luxury type golf course that most visitors play. Rather it’s an affordable golf course that won’t hammer your wallet, yet fulfill your quest to play Golf in Maui. The course is well maintained. The only real difference from the expensive golf courses on the coast is the location. A little cooler and less breezy, Pukalani is sure to agree with you. The restaurant is not open sometimes, depending on the number of tee times on any given day or the time of day. That’s okay as there are much more suited eateries in Makawao a few miles away to round out your day. Providing your tee time is in the morning, you can wander over to the Alii Lavender Farm or stroll the shops in historic Makawao. After exploring the upcountry region of Maui, you will understand why the people who live there, fall in love with the slopes of Haleakala.

At Pukalani Golf Club your cart is included in the green fees. It’s a good thing as the slopes of Haleakala can wear you out. Club rentals are extra though and paid directly when your check-in for your round of golf. The good thing about the Pukalani Golf Club is club rentals are about half the cost of the golf courses on Maui who are located closer to the ocean. With the fees for extra baggage charged by the airlines nowadays, it’s cheaper to rent clubs on the island instead of packing them across the Pacific Ocean. However, some folks prefer their own clubs and really don’t mind the fees associated with lugging them along while traveling.
