Blue Hawaiian Helicopters – Eco-Star Hana and Haleakala – 45 Minutes
$255.20 BOOK NOW
As you view Haleakala Crater from above the south rim with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, you can’t help but wonder the thoughts of the first men that step foot on the moon. With its lunar-like landscape, it is no wonder this flight is the most popular helicopter tour on Maui. The new visitor restrictions for Sunrise viewing at Haleakala National Park will only enhance the popularity of this flight. The eastern slope of Haleakala is dotted with waterfalls. Like thin slivers threading its way down the mountain, tumbling into deep canyons forgotten and untouched by time. As this Maui helicopter tour winds its way north back to the heliport the sights are a memory in the making. To get a true understanding of this portion of Maui, you need to experience a helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. It will not only open your eyes to the real beauty of Maui but also your awareness of the challenges Maui faces on a daily basis regarding climate change and the fragile state of our national resources.
Tip of the Day:
Dark colored clothing is recommended. Light colored clothing will reflect in the curvature of the windows by putting a glare in your picture.
A live action video of your helicopter tour of Maui is available after the flight. You can purchase it and take it home with you. It would make a great memory of your Maui vacation and most certainly a topic of conversation.
The Eco-Star Helicopter:
Like all Maui touring helicopters, the Eco-Star seats six passengers and the pilot. The seating arrangement with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is two in the front and four across the back. All seats are buckets that provide the feeling of your very own seat. The back seats rise higher than the front row of seats for a better viewing experience. The Eco-Star features the following amenities that enhance your experience.
An extra 60 square feet of glass windows for better viewing.
A 4 camera digital DVD system with a cockpit camera that puts you in the video.
Two-way communication between you and the pilot.
Bose aviation grade noise canceling headsets.
First class seats with 23% more cabin area for more personal space.
The most advanced 21st-century helicopter technology that provides an ultra-quiet, smooth and fuel-efficient ride.
Maui helicopter flights routes may change due to weather conditions. Extensive cloud cover can alter the routes as outlined by the FAA ruling that all flights must maintain a distance of 500 feet between the clouds and the ground. Flight route changes are at the sole discretion of the helicopter company and for your safety. They are not grounds for a refund.
Blue Hawaiian Helicopters pilots are some of the most experienced pilots in Hawaii. For the most part, they are ex-military helicopter pilots.

We had a great flight with Bo Brown our pilot. It was so amazing and beautiful to see the Big Island from the air. I grew up flying and he could really fly that helicopter. He got us close to the new lava beds and the water falls, it was great. It was worth every penny.
Very nice. Runs like a clock all the parts are working together. From the call the day before to check in and preflight safety. They just take care of you in a friendly helpful manner. Oh and the flight was awesome, beautiful, and informative.
Not worth the money. You may be paying for a great tour if you get to sit in the front. However, this is a gamble. You may also not even get a window seat. Price should be adjusted for the seat you get. We left disappointed. We went from thinking we were getting a private tour of the island, to sitting in the back underwhelmed. Spend your money else where on the island. We had so many great experiences on this trip. We booked through Expedia at our hotel. This was by far the low point of our trip. Should of been the high point... 😆
Really enjoyed the Maui Spectacular tour. Flew all the way around the island and over volcanic craters and water falls. Very memorable experience. A well informed and friendly staff make the whole experience painless.
Unforgettable experience! Derek was a great pilot and knowledgeable guide.
We did West Maui and Molokai on the A-Star and it was beautiful (I assume any tour will be breathtaking. Hawaii is amazing!).
It looked foggy while we were waiting to board the helicopter but it wasn't a problem once we were out there.
It sprinkled a little bit, which was really cool watching the drops slide across the windows. The highlight of the trip was hovering in front of an almost complete circle rainbow over the water.
