Kevin was outstanding his knowledge of the flora and history of where it came from what it was brought to the island for and the impact on the island was amazing.
To top off an amazing hike and adventure I left my sunglasses in the van and Hike Maui got them back to the other side of the island to me in the morning.
We thoroughly enjoyed our hike experience. Our guide had vast knowledge regarding the plant life and answered questions regarding culture etc. Going with a guide enhances the experience, which is breathtaking. It is a simple hike and I'd say that most slightly athletic people could do it. Our family enjoyed it because everyone was completely into it.. there were no complaints. It's fun when everyone is adventurous. If you like adventure and would like to do something unique, go on this hike.
If you want to do any hikes whilst in Maui do not look any further - book with Hike Maui. Gail and Sean were the Guides for the Hikes I took, they were truly inspirational - a great way to really explore Maui!! Thanks Hike Maui - I will definitely use you guys again when I return to Maui!!
Ask for Gail, she is so full of energy and loves her job. Our family loved every minute with her from the moment we were picked up until we got dropped off. We did the East Maui Waterfalls & Rainforest Hike. This was a 5+ hour trip including driving. The time flew bye the hike was moderate physically at most and the waterfalls were way better than what we found doing the road to Hana drive. If you're willing you have opportunities to cliff jump into the waterfall pools or just go swimming in them. Again ask for Gail if you can she made our trip the most memorable thing we did during our ten days in Hawaii.
My husband and I hiked the East Maui waterfalls and rainforest hike. It was an amazing day in a part of Maui only Hike Maui is allowed to take tourists. The flora, bamboo forest, learning about the fruits & nuts on the hike were incredible. This was topped off by hiking to 3 different waterfalls with beautiful pools. Our guide, Aaron, grew up in Maui and shared personal stories as well as so much history about the island.
