My husband and I had a fantastic tour for the Road to Hana full day excursion. Our tour guide, Gail, was so fun, knowledgeable, and passionate about everything Hawaii-related including history, nature, water, culture, etc. She showed us all the great photo opportunity spots, and lead us through hikes and waterfall swims that were incredible. Highly recommend - thank you!
Excellent excursion! Love the hands on (or should I say foot) mixed in with historical aspects of Hana. Hikes into the falls were great way to break up the ride and get some good exercise to boot. Our guide Sarah was very informative and did good job of filling in all the historical tidbits of Hana as well as Maui. Was a great day for us.
Our guide, Kevin, was awesome. The hike was was amazing! Great pace, kept it interesting, but not too slow or too fast either. Got to see some spectacular sites, despite high water levels. Definitely recommend it. Worth every dollar!
Our tour guide was amazing!! Extremely knowledgeable, kind, and funny. Made us all feel welcome. I would highly recommend her and this company to anyone!! Thanks for the great time Christina!
Our guide/bus driver was called Gail and she was extremely knowledgeable about the island, its history; its people; its plants and animals. Once we arrived we got kitted up, they provided ruck sacks; water bottles; lunch in Tupperware boxes and waterproof ponchos – take the poncho you may need it. Gail then expertly led us on a great hike, some slippery terrain in places, but nothing kids can’t tackle. There are some river/stream crossings so take footwear that can get wet (literally walking in water) and muddy. I wore lightweight walking shoes and even kept them on for the swims. Lunch was good, they even tailored for my son who wanted peanut and jelly sandwiches and for my wife who is gluten intolerant – make sure you mention allergies when booking. Gail provided great support to those that were unsure of the terrain or a little unsteady and also stopped regularly to show plants and explain stuff. There’s lots to smell and taste along the way. We had a great time, the kids in our group loved it and I would definitely do it or another hike with them again. Gail even provided home baked cookies for the ride back.
Things I would do differently: Wear rash guard clothing (swim shorts and shirt) so you can walk and swim in the same clothes. Take a T-Shirt to wear (in the rucksack after the swims). Take a larger waterproof ruck sack so I could carry all the sandwiches and water for my family. Take some light weight rain coats (in ruck sack). Hike in waterproof shoes (such as reef shoes) since this hike doesn’t require stout footwear and take a water proof camera if possible. Wouldn’t take my phone since there is little to no reception and I worried about dropping it and breaking it on the terrain or in the water.
