Ultimate Rafting and Snorkel – Lanai Snorkeling
$139.00 BOOK NOW
Ultimate Rafting and Snorkel is truly an Ultimate Rafting trip. It is a one of a kind Maui snorkeling and rafting tour. With 3 Lanai snorkel sites and the dolphins you’ll see along the way, there is no better way to get up close and personal with dolphins or whales (seasonal). You will snorkel at some of the finest reefs on Lanai teeming with marine life. Take your snorkeling adventure beyond the usual and explore Lanai with Ultimate Rafting and Snorkel.
They’re known as Ultimate Rafting Adventures because it’s the ultimate Lanai snorkel tour. Some snorkel spots on Maui are tame, like Molokini. Lanai is wild, remote, unspoiled and best of all, there are no crowds.
It takes about 45 minutes to travel the channel from Maui to Lanai. Your journey will take you to two or three snorkel sites along the coast of Lanai. Specific adventures with Ultimate Rafting and Snorkel changes according to the ocean currents like everyone else. They zoom north to the isolated regions of Lanai that few get to experience. Here you will enter sea caves, see blow holes and snorkel won some of the finest reefs in the world. There are shipwrecks, rusting from decades of being battered by the sea. Most have been there since World War II. They were blown off course during storms and sit, a reminder of the power of nature.
There are dolphins, turtles, flying fish and so much more. I think the finest snorkeling in Hawaii can be found in Manele Bay. This is the last snorkel site you will experience during the day. Its also the best. Like an aquarium, Manele Bay is a living example of a healthy reef. Exploding in colors, teeming with hundreds of varieties of fish, both big and small, Manele Bay set the standard for snorkel trips on Maui.
It’s been over 20 years since Ultimate Rafting first made the journey across the channel to Lanai. During that time, Ultimate Rafting has awed thousands of guests with the wonders only found on Lanai. They discovered the best Lanai snorkel sites long ago, then sticking with the best through the years has earned them the recognition of one of the best rafting trips on Maui
During the winter months, the Humpback Whale makes its annual journey to Maui from the cold waters off the coast of Alaska. This time of year is always exciting for snorkeling on Lanai. You will see whales and Ultimate Rafting will provide you with an ultimate whale watch. It won’t be nearly as long as booking a Maui whale watching tour, but you will get your fix. Then it’s off to your snorkel adventure.
We know first hand that the service is awesome, the snorkel sites provide a day packed with fun and excitement.
Ultimate Whale Watch and Snorkel is owner operated with over 20 years of snorkeling adventures on Lanai to their credit. The snorkeling reviews are great and the trip is an exceptional value.
Built similar the rafts the USS Coast uses, Ultimate Rafting offers a smooth ride with the ability to scoot across the channel quickly. Certified for 24 passengers, the guest count is kept small for comfort. As most rafts, this one has a shaded area and easy access to the water from the rear of the boat.

6 HOUR TRIP
Destination: Island of Lanai, exploring 3 snorkel spots, looking for remote areas with the best snorkeling for that day. Dolphins are the priority in choosing the direction we go.
Wow, just wow. This was such an incredible experience, we got so lucky that we had a pack of males chasing down a coveted female humpback -- they certainly put on a show! But on top of this, we had an amazing time on this boat for a few reasons: 1. Our crew was super fun, nice, and knowledgeable. IF you are so lucky, Amy and Heather (sorry if we are mixing up names) are probably some of the best on the island for this. 2. The boat itself was fantastic for this kind of trip. We toyed around with the idea of booking a spot on a two level, bigger boat, but frankly, this was so much better because the raft boat is more maneuverable and surprisingly comfortable...plus you can easily get underwater pictures! 3. The value of this tour was superb. There are tons of options for whale watching tours on the island, but for the boat, the experience, the knowledge that they had (these two do whale research outside of this), I'd recommend 100/100. Thank you!
Nick and Abby (I believe that was her name) were wonderful guides on our whale watching tour. We left a few minutes late, but they still fulfilled the 2 hour time frame. We saw a group of active dolphins less than 20 minutes in to our tour! Wonderful experience! They were both very knowledgeable about whales and shared many facts with us.
Loved it! I can tell these people love what they do! We had a ton of fun and not only did we see whales, but the dolphins as well! The best experience ever. Thank you!
I am so completely disappointed by this company. I chose this company because they have such excellent reviews and advertise a small group experience which is exactly what I wanted. I didn't see any reviews which show my experience: being cancelled and rescheduled on multiple trips on two different days of my vacation. Three times I was cancelled because "there aren't enough people to go out" or "a large group just canceled so now we don't have enough people". Nothing makes you feel less valued as a customer than the fact that the money you already paid doesn't go far enough for the company to honor your reservation.
The last cancellation was for wind and when I said I was very upset that I wouldn't be able to go whale watching at all while I was in Maui, the girl on the phone retorted rudely, "Well, we can't do anything about the weather, ma'am". I explained that it was my 4th cancellation in 2 days and the first cancellation for the weather. To be fair, all of the other people I spoke with on the phone were polite and did try to reschedule me when they could.
Also, be prepared for them to call you from cell phones from Florida or Texas, and not from their advertised number when they cancel your trip. I missed one of the calls and messages because I wasn't expecting a call from Florida while I was in Maui!
There were no problems with my refund, for which I'm grateful, since I never got to go whale watching on my trip. I would have preferred they tell me the first time they canceled me that it was likely to happen again because then I could have booked with one of the other companies before it got too windy.
We had a great snorkeling adventure with Nick and Brittany. We viewed spotted dolphins on the way out to Lanai and spinner dolphins on the way back. Brittany took great care of us as lifeguard as we snorkelled. She also added a noodle to keep me stable. Thanks for the great time!
