Polynesian Adventure Tours is the largest provider of Sightseeing Tours on Maui. They have more tours on Maui than any competitor, by far. Polynesian Adventure Tours span all of Hawaii and have the most experience on the Road to Hana. One of the best things about the tour to Hana with a guided group is the lack of crowds. Even though you are with other people in your tour group, that is pretty much it. The points of interest along the highway that Polynesian Adventure Tours Road to Hana tour stops at are completely different than the ones the independent sightseer stops at. And they are usually the first ones there, so you’re off to the next spot when the area is becoming crowded. Keanae Peninsula is a particularly fascinating stop along the way. With its church steeple jutting up to the heavens, it’s the highest structure in town. The village is old and looks the same way it has for hundreds of years. Looking down at it from the overlook, it’s like a green hand that extends to the ocean, providing life, like it has always done for those who live there. For the most part the residence of Keanae farm taro and fish. Polynesian Adventure Tours Road to Hana tour will take you to many amazing places.

Cut off from the world of high tech, a cell phone usually doesn’t work on the Hana Highway, there are no hot spots for WIFI and the radio in a car receives only static. In many cases, convenience doesn’t exist. Well only if you’re a mainlander. For the people that call the Hana Highway home, it’s a Spartan life. Yet, it’s a life rich in family and things to do. Polynesian Adventure Tours does not stop at Waianapanapa State Park unless it’s by request then its time allowed. They do stop in Hana Town. Here you will get to see what time has forgotten. Or as the residences of Hana prefer to think as, “A simpler way of life”. Life in Hana hasn’t changed much in the last 30 years if it has changed at all. Life comes and goes as it always has, slowly.

In Hana Bay, there is a trail that leads from the only dock out to the point. It’s a nice little hike. At the end of the point is a small lighthouse that signals the entrance to Hana Bay. I have always found this little trail peaceful. The trail itself is well worn with a few ups and downs, but the end of the path lies the rough beauty that makes this part of the world so special. A place where time has little or no value.

Due to the remoteness of the area, many stars, celebrities, and wealthy people have built estates tucked away behind the walls of the rainforest looking to escape the world from time to time. We have always referred to Hana as the other side of nowhere because there is nothing there. Today, there is still nothing there. I suspect it will always remain so as the people who live there, do not want to catch up with the world, rather they would be left behind to the ruralness of life.

Take a day and join us for a tour of the Hana Highway with the most respected touring company in all of Hawaii. At the end of the day, you will be hooked on Maui for life!

We bought a Road to Hana tour through our resort. What made me want to buy this was that the tour included the back off the circle.

I honestly wasn't sure what to expect on the tour, but our tour guide made the trip! He was funny, informative, and attentive to all of us.

Our bus had USB plugs to keep our phones charged. That was fabulous.

They also provide you tons of water and juice.

We stopped at major places that were important for us to see. Places where we did not stop, he slowed down for pictures and fed us a ton of information.

We did this early in our vacation, and I am glad we did. We knew so much more about the island because of this tour.

We had to book last minute on our due to our original tour guide cancelling. We are not big cruise excursion fans preferring to book our own excursion.

The tour bus was small with roughly 24 seats, large side windows and a large window in the front. Our tour guide was great, she was very knowledgeable and pointed out interesting items on our trip up the mountain. Hidden within her narrations were some very funny comical jokes or stories. On the way back down, she kept the narration to a minimum, letting us rest and nap.

There is nothing to describe what you see at Haleakala's summit. To look out across a sky filled with fluffy clouds. The land is tints of red and looks alien. And to watch the sun set was spectacular. There is more to this place, it is a place worshiped by the Hawaiians. It is the House of the Sun.

I am here in Maui on my honeymoon. I booked this tour (Haleakalā) weeks ago. I called yesterday at 7:15pm to confirm the tour since nobody had reached back out to me after providing my hotel information. The representative at dispatch had all of my information (which means that they they received my email with my hotel info). I was told to be at the hotel lobby at 2:30am (different than the 3:00am time printed on my ticket... thanks for letting me know about that before my phone call, Polynesian Adventure Tours). I repeated back to the representative “okay, so we will be at the hotel lobby at the circle by 2:30am. She told us, “that is correct.” I then asked “out of curiosity, what time will we get back?” She told me “4:30am,” which I know had to be incorrect.

I write this review now as I sit back in my hotel room not on the tour because the representative gave me the wrong pickup information. Apparently there’s is a different location that we should have been told to be waiting at. The driver called my HOTEL ROOM instead of my CELL PHONE, which is idiotic since we clearly wouldn’t be in the hotel room if we are waiting for a tour elsewhere.

The company has not been able to provide a resolution yet, but nobody should have to go through this... especially on your honeymoon. STAY AWAY!!

Had a great sunrise tour with Wayne. Wayne was very knowledgeable and had many interesting tidbits. He was quite a talker, and I learned far more than I would have thought possible about the island. Beautiful sunrise, worth getting up early! Breakfast and the snack were a weak point, could use improvement. However, would definitely recommend as a highlight of our trip!

Despite our hotel recommendation to do this tour, I would not advise. Morning started off with the bus being over 20 min late, then we spent almost 2 hrs picking up and dropping other guests, including a stop at the airport. We were on the bus at least 3.5 hrs with no access to snacks or drinks. Then, once we arrived at the top of the mountain, we had just 30min to look around before heading back.

My advise, rent a car and do a day trip yourself, probably save $250.
