A Unique Luau Experience on Maui at the Grand Wailea Luau
Pele, the goddess of fire is described as one who came prior to the arrival of the Polynesians, paving the way with her lava so there would be land sufficient for the Hawaiians to live. Lilinoe, the goddess of the mist was said to linger above sending cool rains to nourish the lands. The mermaid of Maui, Kananaka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The dance of Naulu is a love story – the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa in the uplands that embraced the clouds of Ulupalakua. These stories of ancient Hawaii create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula that bring the history of Maui to life. Enjoy an evening of magical enchantment at Honua’ula and discover the culture, history, and legends Hawaii.

I was extremely skeptical to try out this luau after reading other reviews, but it was amazing! The food was delicious and everyone was fed quickly. The dancers and the fire performance were mesmerizing, I’d definitely go again!! My husband and I had a wonderful time. Highly recommend!!!
Food, music and fire show were good! All lines moved fast, and nice staff. It wasn't quite a "WOW" experience but was a fun evening.
My wife and I came here to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary. When I say this place was spectacular I mean it. We were here attending their luau celebration and just the walk on through the gardens of the resort was amazing. From the gardens, koi pools, cabanas, everything there was perfect. Then on to the show the food was amazing which was an amaz in my buffet, the entertainment was phenomenal with story telling, traditional dances, fire dancing, it really made us feel the spirit of aloha. I would reccomend for anyone looking to do a luau especially if it is last minute. We went on a Thursday and they were very accomidating on squeezing us in.
Food was ok and show was alright but there are much better in lahaina
Low rent. Run down grounds where the actual luau is located. Poor stage placement. You have this beautiful coastline and mountain view, but you have your back to all of that. For $130 a ticket, it should be upscale, right? It's not. Additionally, I would not have ate the food they had @ the this luau for free (steak poor quality, and severely overbooked (well done). Also, it's a tourist trap. I hate that. You're in a location for a fixed amount of time and they have all these vendors selling their trinkets. Tacky.
All and all would not recommend. These review are important because you're on vacation, right? You have a limited amount of time that you're here in Maui. Don't waste it on this luau.
I recommend the luau @ the Marriott. Very nice, upscale.
