A Unique Luau Experience on Maui at the Grand Wailea Luau

Pele, the goddess of fire is described as one who came prior to the arrival of the Polynesians, paving the way with her lava so there would be land sufficient for the Hawaiians to live. Lilinoe, the goddess of the mist was said to linger above sending cool rains to nourish the lands. The mermaid of Maui, Kananaka, swooned near the surfers and tried to capture them for fun. The dance of Naulu is a love story – the goddess of the clouds could only visit her lover Kanaloa in the uplands that embraced the clouds of Ulupalakua. These stories of ancient Hawaii create an exciting evening of traditional chant and hula that bring the history of Maui to life. Enjoy an evening of magical enchantment at Honua’ula and discover the culture, history, and legends Hawaii.

Beautiful and Entertaining! They did a variety of dances, you learn about the Hawaiiam culture you can participate and learn to hula. Everyone is friendly...totally recommend upgrading to get closer to the stage also getting a real flower lei is super special. Food is fantastic wish I never got full so I could enjoy more of it. Beautiful setting when the sun sets too. I love Hawaii!

We have visited a hula dance show. Yes, it's kind of expensive. But I suggest you to spend a little bit more and get VIP tickets. First of all you will be seated in front, that gives you an opportunity to see everything. The second-you don't have to go and stay in the line to the bar. They will bring drinks to you at the table. And the third you get a beautiful necklace souvenir

This is quite a good Luau that I have attended twice. The setting is simply brilliant with views of the ocean and the stunning Grand Wailea Resort. The food is very good and fresh. Staff keeps the buffet well stocked and lines move quickly. The Luau follows timelines nicely. Good for kids, the show is very entertaining and engaging. Staff and friendly and helpful. Hard to find any reason to complain. Just a great evening and better the second time.

My wife and I had a great time at Wailea’s Finest Honua’ula Luau. In my opinion it was worth the extra money for the VIP tickets. We sat at the first table closest to the show and was the first group to get our food. Overall the food was enjoyable, with a wide variety of things to choose from. The open bar was nice, didn’t have to wait too long for a drink. Desserts were really good too. Most of all the performance was entertaining and memorable. I’m glad we decided to do this and was within walking distance from our villa.

Absolutely terrible service!!! I was planning on attending the luau on the night of my wedding. (along with 45 people) When we phoned in December to make a reservation for May we were told to phone back the end of March as they didn’t have the schedule yet. I mentioned the day of our wedding (which was a Wednesday) they advised me that they don’t host luaus on Wednesday’s so we switched our wedding date to Thursday and waited.. End of March rolls around and we phone to book... They didn’t have the schedule yet and told me to phone back the next day, the day after the same thing, etc etc. A week went by and I asked them if they could take my name and call me as soon as it’s available as I have a large # of people coming to Maui for my wedding and attending the luau, they said they couldn’t do that. No one called and only 1 lady I spoke to sounded like she cared... needless to say me and my fiancé checked their schedule and it finally showed up the middle of April and the luau is scheduled on Wednesday not the Thursday like we were told. We are now panicking as our wedding is under a month away and we have no where to go with all our guests!!!
I’m my opinion if your spending $165 US for anything you better get the best service in the industry. Extremely disappointed!!!
