Humpback Whales cruise through the waters of all the islands in Hawaii. The main concentration of whales is between Maui, Lanai and Molokai. Here the waters are the warmest and protected from open ocean currents. Environmentalists have introduced and passed laws that require whale watching tours on Maui to stay at least 100 yards away from any whale they encounter during their tours. This law was passed to protect the whales from being struck and injured from tour boats. Every whale watching tour on Maui observes this rule. To provide the best Maui whale watches, the charter boat usually plots their course ahead of the whales, then cut their engines. Definitely a worthwhile activity in Maui - we were impressed by everyone at Alii Nui: the shuttle service from the hotel was nice and on-time, the boat was beautiful, food was good, we were lucky to get an incredible sunset, and most of all - the service was outstanding. The entire crew is personable, social, fun, professional, and helpful. Highly recommended
Went with a group from our corporate gathering for a morning snorkeling cruise. All of the grumbles about the early wake up call vanished as we boarded the boat and tucked in to the breakfast spread.
As we arrived at Molokini for the snorkeling, we were already impressed; but that was when the crew went into overdrive. Their hospitality, professionalism, and infectious JOY about what they were doing was nothing short of awesome.
The snorkeling and fun was unrivaled and the service impeccable. It was the highlight of the trip and I can not recommend it highly enough.
The ship and crew of Alii Nui were nothing short of amazing. We had the absolute best experience and would tell anyone we know that this is the only way to go.
Boat was spacious, comfortable and rode smooth. (We sailed part of the way home and it was one of my favorite parts of the trip). The crew was there with one purpose; too make sure you had a great time. They made my wife who was new at snorkeling completely at ease and were there for anything you needed. They even offered to clean your sunglasses afterwards.
We had a high quality breakfast out on the way to Molokini and there were beverages served throughout. On the way home we another great meal server and the crew was even passing post meal snacks the remainder of the way.
Just can't say enough about what a great experience it was. We will cruise with them again soon I hope.
Captain Nicole, First Mate Jordan, and the whole crew were great! The boat is beautiful, smooth and stable with comfortable space above and below. Quality breakfast, lunch, and beverages. They sincerely thought of everything, and it was a fantastic day out. We did the Molokini only trip in early September.
Absolutely one of the best days we have had as a family! The captain, crew, food, boat, equipment...all were AMAZING! They had everything you needed for a fun, safe day snorkeling two gorgeous spots. The on board photographer was a plus too. We will do this every time we return. Mahalo Alii Nui team!
